Tahoe Players Dance Studio is a full service dance school located in Incline Village, Nevada by Beautiful Lake Tahoe. The studio offers the finest in Tahoe Dance Education, offering a wide range of classes and private lessons for all ages. Our instructional dance classes cover Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, HipHop/break dancing, Aerial Silks, Acrobatics, Glee, Musical Theater, Choreograhy, Latin, Ballroom, and Tumbling. We also provide Voice, Drama and Theatre classes as well as Summer Camps covering all disciplines. The 2,000sq ft. studio in incline is also available to rent out for private events and classes

MONDAY

CHOREOGRAPHY LEVEL 4 AND UP
This class taught by Maureen Kelly Graduate of UARTS and professional dancer. Maureen begins with a warm up, then to across the floor and center practice, followed by a combination. This class teaches dancers about the fundamentals of creating choreography as well as the history of great choreographers past and present. Maureen uses Graham, Cunningham, and free flowing release technique floor work in beautiful choreographic pieces. Students must have knowledge of a ballet and jazz and have a formidable knowledge of terminology and communication as it relates to dance. Students will be given choreography to pick up and notate and create their own choreography to be performed throughout the year. Recommended for dancers age 10 and older.
Dress code, appropriate dance, knee pads attire and notebook.

Incline Dance Studio

JAZZ LEVEL 2
Instructor Maureen Kelly teaches this quick moving endurance building class. Levels two and three jazz will focus on coordination, musicality, and across the floor and center practice combinations. Young dancers will be introduced to the history of jazz dance, celebrating innovative choreographers and dancers who shaped what we know as jazz dance today .Students who are enrolled in this class are strongly encouraged to take ballet in addition. The dress code is, clothes that are easy to move in for example clothes that you can do a handstand and a split in. {no jeans, jazz shoes, tap shoes, hair back out of face, no jewelry.

JAZZ LEVEL 3/4
Instructor Maureen Kelly puts every aspect of jazz you will need to get to the next level. Practicing, leaps, turns, across the floor, and floor work Maureens class is high energy and technical with fun edgy music and creative choreography. This class will focus on the flexibility and terminology needed to effectively do jazz dance. Dress code is any color leotard, leggings, shorts, convertible or footless tights and jazz shoes.

LEAPS, TURNS, AND ACROBATICS
This class is designed to help dancers achieve personal goals in dance and acrobatics. A strong conditioning and strengthening warm up accompanied with drills, and combinations to increase height in leaps and revolutions in turns will be emphasized along with comprehensive mat exercises to work on the dancers acrobatic skills.

BALLET LEVEL 5/6
Will place the finishing touches on terminology, and technique (Vaganova) for advanced ballet students. Accelerated instruction of multiple pieces from contemporary to classic will be taught and performed throughout the year. Adults welcome, must have previous ballet training. Uniform black leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes and pointe shoes

ADULTS INTERMEDIATE CONTEMPORARY MODERN
Instructor Maureen Kelly a graduate of UARTS and professional dancer from New York teaches this intermediate-advanced modern class using advanced floor work and expressive choreography. Maureen's plethora of knowledge of modern dance creates a lovely mix of release technique, with tasteful hints of Limon, Hawkins, and Cunningham. Please bring knee pads, they are also available for purchase at the studio.

TUESDAY

ADULT AERIAL SILKS
Aerial silks (also known as fabric, ribbon or tissue) taught by Meghan Cooper is one of the newest and most challenging forms of aerial dance. The fabric hangs from the ceiling while the aerialist climbs, locks, spins and drops from and around it. This takes a great amount of strength, flexibility, balance and courage. Aerial dance is a creative, challenging and fun way to get in amazing shape. Our classes involve a generous warm up consisting of a series of stretches and movement to get the body ready for the intensity of the silks, followed with a short conditioning sequence. Then we begin working with the fabric, learning poses and movements along with how to flow in and out of them gracefully. We are geared towards injury prevention and proper alignment to help keep the classes as safe as possible.

TINY TOTS OPEN GYM
Incline Dance School This is an open gym socializing time for young children under 3 with an adult friend. This is a $3.00 play time and children 3-6 are welcome with an adult friend for $5.00. An instructor will be supervising tumble moves and instructing the adult how to properly guide the chid into acrobatic maneuvers. As well as a guided warm up and cool down if desired.

TAP FOR TOTS
Instructor Michelle Michelsen a well known local Choreographer, teacher, and performer, introduced the high energy, fun, and sometimes loud world of Tap. Tap dance for children ages 3-5 is very beneficial to their coordination and development honing advanced concepts such as tempo, dynamic, and rhythmic pattern recognition. Any student can try the class first in just socks before you buy tap shoes to make sure you like it. We also have shoes to borrow in the studio however sizes are not guaranteed.

TAP LEVEL 4
Instructor Michelle Michelsen takes the student through a journey of tyles from Fred Astaire to Savion Glover, keeping the student on their feet and ready to continue their enjoyment of the rhythms of tap dance. This class is for the intermediate middle school aged dancer however that is depending on skill level and overall comprehension of the movement. This class will expand and make more complex previous tap steps learned to formulate challenging choreography while having fun in playful cohesive choreographic stories. Dress code jazz pants or dance shorts and a form fitting shirt or leotard.

TAP LEVEL 2/3
Level 2/3 Tap Taught by Michelle Michelsen will focus on teaching tap steps, musicality, and combinations and increasing knowledge, and clarity of steps learned in previous classes. Young dancers will be introduced to the history of tap and jazz dance, celebrating innovative choreographers and dancers who shaped what we know as tap dance today. Students who are enrolled in this class are strongly encouraged to take ballet in addition. BALLROOM ALL AGES
This high energy class is sure to make all aged students excited about different genres of music and dance. Dress code, jazz shoes, or ballroom shoes No partner needed. All levels and ages are welcomed to take this ballroom class which will take you through all genres of ballroom and social dancing including but not limited to; Swing, Waltz, Nightclub Two Step, Salsa, Samba, Bachata, Cha Cha, Rhumba, and Tango. Senior discount, and partner discount available.

TAP LEVEL 5/6
The most advanced tap class that Tahoe Players offers will be polishing and clarifying steps, and combos learned in previous years. Dancers will learn more about dance history as it relates to tap, as well as recreating a plethora of tap styles.

BEGINNER YOUTH SILKS
The class we have all been waiting for! Aerial silks is now open to students starting at age 8. All new students are obligated to test out of this class before attending the Intermediate class. Dress code is tight fitting clothing with no jewelry . HIP-HOP FOR TOTS
This class teaches the fundamentals of Hip hop culture and dance. The students will learn how to freely express themselves through the use of urban dance styles such as popping, locking, illusions, and breaking, just to name a few. Classes will begin with a warm up consisting of different body isolations, stretching, and multiple rounds of footwork to help build muscle memory.

MODERN/CREATIVE MOVEMENT FOR TOTS
Exploration of the art of dance with a modern twist.This class is an exploration in the arts of dance with a modern twist. This class is an exploration in the arts of dance with a modern twist. Taught by Brittnee Bramy Modern/Creative Movement is a playful introduction developmentally beneficial movement sequences. A little more fast paced than Ballet this class is highly recommended for boys and girls. This class is extended to children between the ages of 3-5 first class is free.

INTERMEDIATE YOUTH SILKS
This class is for students 10 and up who have been approved enrollment in the Intermediate class. To be allowed to move you must test out of the Tuesday evening Beginner Youth Silks class. BALLET PRE-POINTE LEVEL 4
A studio favorite, this class is extended only to those enrolled in two ballet classes and who have been cleared for pre-pointe. The Pilates mat class is strongly encouraged. in this class will continue their knowledge of choreographers, composers, classical and contemporary ballets, while completing the final steps needed to go en pointe. Dress code is Burgundy leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes, ribbons, tight ballet bun and a notebook. No jewelry except studded earrings.

MAT PILATES ALL AGES
A suggested class for all aged 10 and up to improve core, leg, and arm strength. This class is a $10 drop in and essential for those in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary and Tap program. Top professionals in Ballet institutions are encouraging dancers take Pilates here are some notable figures speaking on what Pilates does for them as a dancer.

Julia ~ Juilliard School Dance Division:
I have learned how to properly keep my pelvis level and stable throughout new movements and exercises. Pilates has helped me relearn how to become stronger and more stable while also gaining more and more mobility and ease. Through Pilates I have gained more strength, stability, ease and power for my dancing. My personal instructor through our exercises has been clear parallels to dance that have helped my work tremendously!

Tal ~ Juilliard School Dance Division:
Pilates has taught me how to work simpler through the use of deeper muscles and a sense of integrity and coordination. All these have benefited my dancing tremendously and immediately.
Pilates has shown me that I can achieve a better balance in strength and mobility. Most importantly, it makes me work in ease and comfortable in my body.

Parents, Aerialists and non-dancers are also very welcome to attend this 60 minute Mat class. Please bring your own mat.

JAZZ LEVEL 5/6
The most advanced jazz class offered will explore many genres of jazz dance, classical, contemporary, modern, african, and latin styles will be used to influence inspiring choreographic works. Acrobatics will be taught extensively in every class as well.
Dress code, leotard, form fitting shirt, shorts, jazz pants, and sweat pants and jazz shoes. Notebook required.

POINTE VARIATIONS
Any age dancer may audit this class. Dancers will learn many classical ballet variations from the great ballets in history. They will notate the exact choreography then perform and practice it until it is precise and fluid. Classical variations class will also contain a Pas De Deux element attaining the most difficulty one can in Ballet.


THURSDAY

MODERN JAZZ FOR TOTS
Exploration of the art of dance with a Modern Jazz twist. This class is an exploration in the arts of dance with a modern twist. Taught by Brittnee Bramy Modern Jazz is a playful introduction developmentally beneficial movement sequences. A little more fast paced and free flowing than Ballet this class is highly recommended for boys and girls. A Modern and Jazz class with stretching, movement across the floor and a combination sure to stimulate and help your childs' coordination, musicality, and coordination. Your child express themselves in this art of dance with a modern style, to up beat music. This class is extended to children between the ages of 3-5 first class is free.

BALLET FOR TOTS
The Tahoe Players curriculum for this class is certified by Dance Educators of America. Taught by Brittnee Bramy, this class teaches basics of creative movement and ballet through movement as well as stories, and videos. Students in this class are taught basic French, movement patterns, and movement around the classroom to develop confidence, coordination, and spatial awareness for youth age 3 to 5.

MUSICAL THEATER FOR TOTS
The Leap ‘n’ Learn program encourages young performing artists to learn the basics of vocal, dance, and theatrical technique through innovative play. Leap ‘n'’ Learn is a nationally acclaimed curriculum developed by early childhood education specialists. Using games designed to teach pantomime, improvisation, and stage directions, young artists learn the fundamentals of acting. Your child’s love for music will be expanded using multiple musical instruments, singing scales and arpeggios to teach music theory and rhythmic patterns. Students will also learn about musicals throughout history through story time, performance, and visual art projects.Dress code for girls is a leotard and tights, for boys black pants and white shirt.

GLEE AND MUSICAL THEATER
This class is welcome to all school age students who love to act, sing, and dance
Performers will learn about acting techniques, improvisation, music theory and pitch, choreography, acrobatics, scene study, and theater history. Dress code comfortable clothing that you can do a cartwheel in if needed, no jeans, no skirts, and a notebook required. All are welcome even if you have not yet sung or danced we will teach you!
Participants in this class are offered a place in any Tahoe Players productions and will be trained in the method that had produced exceptional performance education to Northern Nevada for the last 23 years.

BALLET LEVEL 2/3
Levels 2/3 ballet will teach the fundamentals of Vaganova classical ballet technique, the French language and classical music composers, choreographers, and dancers, who shaped the ballet culture as we know it today. Each class will either begin or end with 15 to 20 minutes of acrobatics to strengthen muscles used in dancing, increase flexibility, and create spatial awareness.
Dress code is, green leotard, footless, or convertible tights, and ballet shoes. Notebook required.

BALLET TECHNIQUE LEVEL 4
This class is designed for the dancer who is in between level 3 ballet and level 4 pre pointe, and required for students taking the level 4 pre-pointe. A multi age class that will further training and understanding of Vaganova classical ballet technique as well as build the strength and knowledge needed to enter the level 4 pre-pointe class. This class is hard work but fun and centers itself around conditioning, terminology, and dance history.Dress code is a Burgundy leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes, hair in ballet bun, and notebook. No jewelry excepting studded earrings.

BREAK DANCE ALL AGES
These classes will teach the fundamentals of Hip Hop culture and dance. The students will learn how to freely express themselves through the use of urban dance styles such as popping, locking, illusions and breaking, just to name a few. These classes will begin with a warm-up consisting of different body isolations, stretching and multiple rounds of footwork to help build muscle memory. Then we will move into a fun, upbeat combination, which will be broken down step by step to ensure it’s full comprehension. We will practice this routine repetitiously each week in preparation for the seasonal performance. The last ten to fifteen minutes of each class will be the Breakdance “Freestyle” time. This is where we will practice our B-Boy and B-Girl moves that we learn. There will be at least one friendly battle at the end of each class. This encourages the student’s confidence and choreography. A friendly battle is simply when the dancers circle up and take turns each “Breaking” in the middle of the circle. These classes are all about having fun, while gaining strength and rhythm. Please wear well supported shoes as these are high impact classes.

FRIDAY

TEEN CONTEMPORARY
Contemporary dance draws on both Modern and postmodern dance as a source of inspiration to display human spirit and emotion in an art form. The instructor for this class is Brittnee Bramy a graduate of UNLV with a BA in dance production and spent years dancing in a Modern dance company performing the works of Erick Hawkins. Brittnee's effervescent personality is contagious and her strong ballet training excite students into the same terminology used in ballet class. With an Warm up, center practice, across the floor, and combination in every class, it is for any level dancer who is looking into expressing themselves through dance.

ACTING AND GLEE FOR ALL
This class is for those with the acting bug. This high energy improvisation focused class will be entertaining educational and fun!. Students will play improv games, make up skits, learn about traditional acting and its origin, as well as perfect audition technique. If the student should feel musically inclined musical skits are also included.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CONTEMPORARY
Contemporary dance draws on both Modern and postmodern dance as a source of inspiration to display human spirit and emotion in an art form. The instructor for this class is Brittnee Bramy a graduate of UNLV with a BA in dance production and spent years dancing in a Modern dance company performing the works of Erick Hawkins. BALLET LEVEL 1/2
This class is designed for children age 4 to six to begin introducing or continue to introduce classical ballet, the French language, muscle coordination, discipline, and etiquette. All students are welcome to try this class in addition to other pre- school classes we have throughout the week. Dress code is a pink leotard and tights all skirts are fine and any color ballet shoes is also fine.

HIP HOP FOR ALL AGES
Very fun class for those who are interested in Hip hop of all ages. Instructor Laura Yates makes this high energy class fun with her choreography and self confidence building exercises.

FREE First Saturday Silks Open Gym
As a token of our appreciation Tahoe Players would like to offer two slots of completely free time to practice aerial silks the first Saturday of each month starting this Saturday August 4th. Time slots are 10am to 12pm.

Private lessons
All private lesson inquiries must be made at least one week prior to desired lesson time. Private lessons are $50/ hr. Students who take private lessons weekly are extended the opportunity of solos in up coming performances. Private lessons can be given in any activity for any length of time according to scheduling ability and teacher discretion.

For the last three years Tahoe Players has experimented with having longer class times. It has worked very well for more advanced classes to have this extended class time. Tahoe Players Dance Studio is selling pre-packed, ready to go dance bags! The dance bags are $40.00 and contain; 2 pair of pink tights, 1 leotard (in the students uniform color), bobby pins, hairspray, gel & waist band. The bags come in Hot Pink, Black, and Lavender. There are generic sized bags prepared at the studio or to customize your bag/size/color leo and tights please allow 1 week for arrival after order is placed.
